It's true we have been doing this for a long time, and we have learned that if a person can answer these five questions with a confident yes! They are truly ready to give love to a furry new family member.
1.) Do you have the Space?
Chihuahuas and French Bulldogs are small but require room to grow especially when they are puppies. It's important to have a designated area for them, and them only. This can be a kennel or even baby pin! Keep In mind these guys are being trained to know the difference between where they eat versus where they go to the bathroom. Puppy pads and eating bowls should be at opposite ends of their designated area:)
2.) Do you have the Time?
You are getting ready to embark on letting a new little life, into your life it's important for both of you to have the time to adjust. During the first six months we suggest setting up a firm schedule that assists your new companion in potty training, receiving healthy meals and social feedback. This is the time when your little girl or guy develops the relationship they will have with the world, a lotta love and time goes a long way!
3.) Is it Affordable?
These little guys give the very best love possible, and we all agree they deserve the best in return. Considering pet insurance to cover unexpected veterinary bills is necessary or having a stash for a rainy day for your little one is recommended. It's also important to take in account for the price of food, and maybe even a pet deposit if you are a renter.
4.) Is Your Family Puppy Friendly?
Picture this…everyone loads in the car excited to pick up the new puppy and to go new puppy shopping. You all have stayed up all night waiting for the moment you can put hand in paw and take your little one home. You get them all bundled in their new blanket, and have your puppy pack in hand. Then you hear a stifled sneeze…then another. It’s a family member and guess what? they are allergic! In all the excitement everyone forgot about this subtle allergy. It's idea to take in account the composition of your family as well as their health needs.
5.) Are you Ready For Unconditional Love?
Yes…and Yes Again!
Have a long day at work or school and you need a non judgmental ear, they are there . Out of shape? They will get you out and walking. The benefits of having a new little one is countless, but one that stands out above the rest is the endless love they give.
