Florida has plenty of Chihuahuas. What it is short on is puppies whose whole story you can check, from the whelping box to the car seat. Ours are born in our house, grow up on our kitchen floor rather than in a kennel building, and never come from anyone else's litter. We do not resell.
Every morning each puppy sits on a gram scale and we write the number down. Your puppy flies only once it eats confidently on its own: 8 to 10 weeks for most, 10 to 12 weeks for teacup size puppies. We book a nonstop whenever the route allows.
Our vet signs the health certificate before the trip. On board, the puppy rides in a soft carrier at our feet, where we can offer a little soaked kibble and keep it warm against the cabin air. You wait just outside security; we sit down together, go through the feeding plan in Eastern time and the early signs of low blood sugar, then hand over the puppy, its scent blanket, starter food and a tube of Nutri-Cal. Schedules shift by season, so treat the routings as typical. Florida runs an hour ahead of Central time, so a puppy that ate at 11 a.m. our time is hungry again by early afternoon on your clock.

Heat, Humidity and Small Paws
A teacup size puppy, projected to reach 3 to 4 lbs as an adult, has almost no body mass to soak up heat. Pavement, pool pavers and screened lanais run far hotter than the air. Put your palm on the sidewalk for seven seconds; if it hurts you, it is too hot for paws an inch off the ground. Walk before 9 a.m. or after sunset from May to October.

Hurricane Season and Your Delivery Date
From June through November we watch the National Hurricane Center outlook for your airport during the week before delivery. If a storm is heading your way, the flight moves and your reservation stays exactly as it was. Your puppy keeps eating and growing with us.

Florida has a pet sale law that expects a recent official health certificate for a puppy sold to a Florida resident, and our vet issues one before every flight. Here is the rest of the folder.

We are a home Chihuahua breeder in Minneapolis, not Florida, but we hand-deliver to Florida ourselves. One of us flies out of MSP with your puppy in a soft carrier under the seat and meets you just outside security at your airport. Nobody else touches the carrier, and the puppy never rides in cargo.
Do you deliver Chihuahua puppies to Jacksonville FL?
Yes, although Jacksonville usually means one connection from MSP, which makes a longer day for a small puppy. Some Jacksonville families prefer to drive to Orlando for a shorter routing. We look at the flights with you once your puppy is reserved and pick whichever gets the puppy into your arms soonest.
Is a teacup Chihuahua okay in the Florida heat?
Yes, if it lives indoors with air conditioning, which is how every Chihuahua should live. The danger is short exposures you do not think about: a parked car, a sunny lanai, a hot pool deck at noon. Walk early or after sunset from May to October and test the pavement with your palm first.
What happens if a hurricane is forecast for my delivery date?
We postpone the flight and pick a new date with you. Your puppy stays in our home on its normal feeding schedule until your airport is open and your house has power. A puppy waiting out cancellations in a crowded terminal is the one thing we refuse to risk.
