Ohio families who want to know exactly where their puppy came from often end up talking to us. We are Twin Cities Chihuahuas, and every litter we raise is born in our home in Minneapolis. One of us flies your puppy in the cabin to Columbus, Cleveland or Cincinnati and puts it in your hands, with a folder that tells you everything about its first weeks.
Every puppy below is in our Minneapolis home today. Each one is $700, and each listing shows age, coat, gender and our estimate of adult weight.

Searches for chihuahuas for sale in Ohio bring up page after page of listings, and many lead to Holmes County and the counties around it, where there are kennels of every size. We do not judge any seller by their address. The one opinion we hold firmly for Ohio buyers is to judge by evidence, and to ask every breeder, including us, the same things.
If a seller hedges on any of them, keep looking. Our guide to buying a teacup Chihuahua lists more checks, and there are careful chihuahua breeders in Ohio who will pass every one.
We choose a nonstop whenever one runs, because a connection doubles the day for a puppy that weighs about as much as a can of soup.
Families comparing chihuahua breeders Ohio has with a home breeder a two-hour flight away usually ask one thing first: which airport?
Routings change with the airline schedule, so the table shows what is typical rather than fixed. Ohio is an hour ahead of Central time, and we write the first week's feeding plan in your time zone. The cargo hold is never an option, and neither is a hired courier.
| Airport | Families usually from | Typical routing |
|---|---|---|
| Columbus (CMH) | Columbus, Dublin, Westerville, Newark | Often nonstop, about 2 hours |
| Cleveland (CLE) | Cleveland, Akron, Lorain | Often nonstop, about 2 hours |
| Cincinnati (CVG, in Kentucky) | Cincinnati, Dayton, Northern Kentucky | Usually nonstop, under 2 hours |
| Dayton (DAY) or Akron-Canton (CAK) | Southwest and northeast Ohio | Usually one connection |
John Glenn Columbus International is small enough that we can usually meet you within minutes of landing. Families looking at chihuahua puppies for sale Columbus Ohio from Mansfield, Zanesville or Chillicothe meet us there too. If you have been scrolling chihuahua for sale Columbus Ohio ads, this is the simplest handover we do.
Cleveland Hopkins works for most of northeast Ohio. In winter we ask you to bring the car up warm, because a Cleveland parking deck in January is no place for a puppy under three pounds.
The Cincinnati airport is in Hebron, Kentucky, about 20 minutes from downtown. Dayton and Middletown families often prefer it to a connecting flight into Dayton.
Northeast Ohio's snowbelt, east of Cleveland through Geauga and Ashtabula counties, can pile up lake-effect snow, and an adult of 3 to 4 lbs disappears in a drift. Shovel a small patch by the door and keep a sweater hanging next to the leash.
Southern Ohio is the reverse problem: humid July afternoons along the Ohio River are hard on a little dog, so walk early. Year-round, a covered bed away from drafty windows keeps a Chihuahua content.
We keep a small number of Chihuahuas as family pets, each litter is born in a whelping box in our living room, and we have never sold a puppy we did not breed. Every puppy brings its daily weight log, vaccines for its age, a microchip and a written 1-year genetic health guarantee.
Whoever you buy a chihuahua for sale in Ohio from, the license rule is the same: a county dog license through the county auditor for dogs over 3 months old, generally within 30 days of bringing one home, renewed yearly. Rabies rules are set locally in Ohio, so ask your vet at the first visit. When you are ready, fill in the free adoption application, name your nearest Ohio airport, and we will contact you within 24 hours. Below are a few of our puppies in their new homes.

Our puppies live with us, but Columbus is one of our easiest deliveries. One of us flies from MSP with your puppy in a soft carrier under the seat, typically about two hours nonstop, and meets you just outside security at John Glenn Columbus International. You go home with the puppy and all its records.
It depends on the individual seller, not the region. Holmes County and the surrounding area have kennels of every size. Whoever you buy from, ask to meet the mother, see where the litter is raised, and get the puppy's vet and weight records in writing. A good seller will offer all three without being asked.
Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International, which sits across the Ohio River in Hebron, Kentucky. It usually has nonstop service from MSP, typically under two hours in the air. Dayton families often meet us there too, since Dayton flights from MSP tend to need a connection.
Ohio requires a county dog license from the county auditor for dogs older than 3 months, generally within 30 days of bringing the dog home, and it renews each year. Most of our puppies reach 3 months within a few weeks of arriving. Check your county auditor's website for current fees and deadlines.
