For a family in Hudson or River Falls, our home in Minneapolis is closer than most of Wisconsin. We are a family that breeds only Chihuahuas and raises every puppy under our own roof. Western Wisconsin families drive over; families from Madison to Green Bay usually meet one of us at their own airport after an in-cabin flight.
Every puppy below can go home to Wisconsin by car or by cabin flight. Every one is $700, and the table lists coat, age and the adult weight we expect.

In every option, a person stays beside the puppy from our door to yours. We never ship puppies as cargo and never use a hired transporter.
Wisconsin divides neatly for us. West of Eau Claire, almost everyone drives. East of Wausau, most families are better served by the flight. The middle is a judgment call that depends on the season.
Times are approximate, for dry roads. Flights from MSP to the smaller Wisconsin airports depend on the current schedule, so we confirm a route with you before anything is booked. Our puppy delivery page explains the health certificate, the soft carrier under the seat and the handover.
Driving from La Crosse, Wausau or Madison? Stop once on the way home, around Menomonie or Black River Falls, and offer a few bites of the starter food and a little water inside the warm car. Keep the Nutri-Cal in your pocket, not the trunk.
| Where you live | Approximate drive | How families usually come |
|---|---|---|
| Hudson | About 30 minutes | Drive |
| River Falls and New Richmond | About 45 minutes | Drive |
| Menomonie | About 1 hour 10 minutes | Drive |
| Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls | About 1 hour 30 minutes | Drive |
| Hayward and the Northwoods | About 2 hours 30 minutes | Drive in summer, ask us in winter |
| La Crosse | About 2 hours 30 minutes | Drive, one stop |
| Wausau and Stevens Point | About 3 hours to 3 hours 15 minutes | Drive, or fly to Central Wisconsin Airport |
| Madison | About 4 hours | Fly, or drive with an overnight |
| Appleton and Green Bay | About 4 hours 15 minutes to 4 hours 30 minutes | Fly |
| Milwaukee | About 5 hours 15 minutes to 5 hours 30 minutes | Fly |
A Milwaukee or Green Bay family driving across Wisconsin to us and back in one day spends ten hours on the road, and the puppy rides the second half with an exhausted driver. That is the wrong way to start.
Fly the puppy in, or drive over the afternoon before, stay the night in Hudson, collect in the morning and drive home in daylight. The puppy arrives fed and calm, and so do you.
Over the November gun deer opener, the highways north and east of Eau Claire fill with hunters, and the stretch of I-94 between Eau Claire and Tomah is known for sudden snow squalls.
Lake-effect snow can bury Superior or the Lake Michigan shore while our side of the river stays dry. If the forecast turns, we change the date. A puppy can wait a few days; a slide into the ditch is never worth it.
We are not a Wisconsin breeder, and we say so plainly. Wisconsin licenses dog sellers who sell more than a set number of dogs a year through its agriculture department, DATCP, and that license is worth asking about when you visit a breeder inside the state. It confirms inspections. It does not tell you whether puppies grow up in a kitchen or a barn.
Here is what you get from us. We breed Chihuahuas only and never resell anyone else's puppies. Every puppy is born in our home, handled from day one and weighed every morning, and the weight log travels with it to your Wisconsin vet. Read more about Twin Cities Chihuahuas and how we breed.
For a farmhouse with barn cats, a big yard or a busy household, we usually steer Wisconsin families toward a toy size puppy, projected at 4 to 6 lbs. It is still tiny, but sturdier for rural life than a teacup size puppy at 3 to 4 lbs.
When you are ready, send the free adoption application, tell us your Wisconsin town and whether you would rather drive or fly. We contact you within 24 hours. Teacup size puppies usually stay with us until 10 to 12 weeks, which gives them more reserve for a long trip across the state.

Some Wisconsin sellers use the word, but check what they mean by it. We raise teacup size puppies projected at 3 to 4 lbs as adults, and we never promise an adult under 2 lbs. Any seller who guarantees a full grown Chihuahua of one or two pounds is promising something no one can deliver.
Our home is about an hour and a half west of Eau Claire, closer than many breeders inside the state. Our available puppies are listed with age and projected adult size on our puppies page. Pickup is by appointment, Monday to Saturday, so a weekday drive west on I-94 works well.
Wisconsin generally expects a dog to be licensed by about five months of age, through your town, village or city, with proof of rabies vaccination. Your puppy will be too young for the rabies shot when it comes home at 8 to 12 weeks, so ask your vet about timing and check your municipality's fees.
Yes. One of us flies with the puppy in the airplane cabin from MSP, under the seat in front of us, and hands it to you just outside security at your airport. We book a direct flight when the route allows. The puppy never travels as cargo and is never passed to a hired transporter.
Every puppy we raise is $700, whatever its size, coat or color. That covers the vet check, vaccines for age, deworming, a microchip, registration papers and the written genetic health guarantee. Be careful with Wisconsin listings at a fraction of that price that only offer shipping; that pattern is how most puppy scams start.
