Chihuahua Puppy Delivery: Pickup or We Fly With Your Puppy

A puppy that weighs two pounds should never travel alone. Wherever you live in the USA, every Chihuahua puppy we raise travels with a person beside it the whole way: you, someone you chose, or one of us.

Three ways to bring your Chihuahua puppy home

What we never do: put a puppy in an airline cargo hold, or hand it to a hired transporter or ground shipping service. Those three options above are the only ways our puppies leave.

Picking Up Your Puppy at Our Home

This is the way we like best. You see where your puppy grew up, meet the mother, and spend time with us going over feeding, the potty routine and the early signs of low blood sugar. Visits are by appointment, Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.. We will contact you to agree a time once your puppy is ready to leave.

Bring a small carrier with a towel in it. If the drive home is more than an hour, bring a second person to sit beside the carrier. From November to March, warm the car up before the puppy goes in, and keep the carrier off the cold floor of the car. A puppy that has eaten before it leaves and gets a short break every couple of hours handles a long drive well, which is why plenty of families from neighboring states drive in rather than fly.

Sending Someone You Trust

Cannot make it on the day? A relative or friend can collect for you. Give us their name in advance and ask them to bring photo ID. They get the same walkthrough you would, and they carry home everything that comes with your puppy: the vet check record, vaccine and deworming record, microchip details, AKC paperwork, the written 1-year genetic health guarantee, the weight log, starter food, Nutri-Cal or glucose gel and a blanket that smells of the litter.

Flying With Your Puppy in the Cabin to Your Airport

For families too far to drive, from the next state over to either coast, one of us flies out of Minneapolis-St. Paul International (MSP) to your nearest major airport with your puppy in a soft airline carrier under the seat in front. Your puppy is never in the hold. We do not use hired flight nannies, so the person who hands you your puppy is one of the people who raised it.

When you meet us at your airport, we hand your puppy over in person and go through feeding, the weight log and the warning signs face to face. We book the most direct route the airline schedule allows and take care of the airline's paperwork for the puppy. Flight delivery costs depend on your airport and the time of year, and they are paid with the balance as set out in our deposit policy.

Why We Will Not Use Cargo or Transporters

A small Chihuahua puppy has very little reserve. Hours of noise, changing temperatures and a missed meal are exactly what can tip a tiny puppy into low blood sugar, and in a cargo hold or a transport van nobody is watching for it. In the cabin, one of us can offer food and water, keep the puppy warm and notice the first sign of trouble. Our guide to low blood sugar in Chihuahua puppies explains what to watch for in the first weeks at home. It is also why teacup size puppies stay with us until 10 to 12 weeks, once they eat confidently on their own, before they travel anywhere.

Getting Your Home Ready Before Delivery Day

Set up before the puppy arrives: a small pen or crate, a covered bed, pee pads and a quiet corner away from drafts. Keep the first two days calm with few visitors, and feed small meals on the schedule we give you. Our new Chihuahua puppy checklist puts everything on one page.

Delivery is arranged once your puppy is reserved. See who is ready now on our teacup Chihuahua puppies for sale page, read about our family Chihuahua breeding program, or send the free application and tell us where you live so we can talk through the best way home. We will contact you within 24 hours.

Puppy Delivery Questions

Do you ship Chihuahua puppies?

Not in the way most people mean. We never put a puppy in an airline cargo hold and never hand it to a hired transporter. You collect from our home by appointment, someone you trust collects for you, or one of us flies with your puppy in the airplane cabin and hands it to you at your airport.

How much does Chihuahua puppy flight delivery cost?

It depends on your airport, the airline and the time of year, so we work it out for your trip once your puppy is reserved. Flight delivery costs are paid together with the balance, as our deposit policy explains. Ask us for your route when you apply and we will tell you what to expect.

Can someone else pick up my Chihuahua puppy for me?

Yes. Tell us their name ahead of time and have them bring photo ID. We walk them through feeding, warmth and the signs of low blood sugar exactly as we would with you, and send the records, starter food and litter blanket home with them. They should bring a small carrier lined with a towel.

What should I bring to pick up my Chihuahua puppy?

A small, secure carrier with a towel in it, and a second person if the drive home is longer than an hour so someone can sit beside the puppy. In winter, warm the car before you load the puppy. We supply the food it already eats, Nutri-Cal or glucose gel, the records and a blanket that smells of the litter.

Can I meet you at the airport instead of your home?

Pickup is at our home, by appointment, so you can meet the mother and see where your puppy was raised. Flight delivery works the other way round: one of us flies with your puppy and meets you at your own nearest major airport. If neither suits you, send someone you trust to collect from us.
